Matt Gallagher

Meet Our director

Matt Gallagher joined GetOnMedia at the start of 2019, and was appointed Director for the company in February 2021.

Day-to-day, he splits his time between leading the delivery of key projects including BBC Introducing Live and The Podcast Show 2022, plus BBC Music broadcasts in Ibiza & Malta. Additionally Matt oversees business development across the company, creating brand new event & festival concepts with our management team, and managing a commercial partnerships remit that has led him to develop longstanding relationships with key clients like YouTube, Amazon Music, Sony Music Entertainment and Dolby.

Matt’s early career experience includes working for ITV as a Music Researcher, where he was responsible for editorial curation and rights clearance of music from independent & major record labels & publishers for broadcast on popular television programmes including Love Island and I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! In addition to being highly commended for bringing new label & publisher relationships to ITV (most notably Red Bull Records), Matt also held a commissioning role and was responsible for sourcing composers to write programme title themes (e.g: ITV Racing, which recently hit a record 1 million viewership peak in 2020).

Matt has over a decade of music production & sound engineering experience, and is an alumnus of the Royal College of Music (ranked #1 to study music globally) in addition to being a member of The Ivors Academy, Music Producer’s Guild and Musician’s Union. Following his role at ITV, for several years Matt worked as a music producer & engineer at Tileyard Studios (home to Mark Ronson, Beats One, Ella Henderson, The Prodigy) overseeing and managing recording projects for major music industry stakeholders including Universal Music Publishing, Kobalt Recordings and Ninja Tune. This experience extends to his current role at GetOnMedia, where he has personally worked with and developed artists like Deyaz, James Gillespie and JORDY.

Over the years, Matt has signed and been a part of multiple distribution deals with AWAL/Kobalt Recordings as a producer and songwriter, garnered multiple BBC Introducing ‘Records of The Week’ and had his own productions placed in global company campaigns including Major League Baseball in the USA, KODA Films in Denmark & Australia, and popular UK programmes like Nadiya’s Time To Eat.
